The LeBoeuf Pen Company proudly honors Frederick Douglass, the Father of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, with this stunning limited Edition Fountain Pen and Roller Ball.

Frederick Douglas was the most important leader of the movement for African American civil rights in the 19th century. After escaping from slavery in Maryland, Douglass became a national leader of the abolitionist movement in Massachusetts and New York, during which time, he gained fame for his oratory and incisive antislavery writings. He wrote three autobiographies, describing his experiences as an enslaved person in his first, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave (1845), which became a bestseller and was influential in promoting the cause of abolition.

He embraced the women's rights movement, helped people on the Underground Railroad, and supported anti-slavery political parties. He bought a printing press and ran his own newspaper, The North Star. In 1855, he published his second autobiography, My Bondage and My Freedom, which expanded on his first autobiography and challenged racial segregation in the North.

In 1881, Douglass published his third autobiography, The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass, which took a long view of his life's work, the nation's progress, and the work left to do. Frederick Douglas died peacefully, on February 20, 1895

In his journey from an enslaved young man to internationally renowned activist, Frederick Douglass has been a source of inspiration and hope for millions. His brilliant words and brave actions continue to shape the ways in which we think about race, democracy, and the meaning of freedom.

Each Frederick Douglas Limited Edition pen is made using an exclusive Smoke Gray and Lilac marble acrylic. The Lilac flakes represent the official flower of Rochester, New York, where Douglas lived for the remainder of his life after his freedom was purchased by abolitionists. Each pen barrel has been carefully polished and features an engraved signature, Frederick Douglas.  A gold commutative coin featuring Frederick Douglas Portrait has been fitted onto the top of each cap.

Each Frederick Douglas Limited Edition Pen features a German gold plated nib featuring the LeBoeuf logo in both Fine and Medium Points and utilizes a cartridge/Convertor filling system.  A Roller Ball version is also available which uses a Standard International Roller Ball refill. Each pen model is limited to 150 pens Worldwide.

The LeBoeuf Frederick Douglas Limited Edition is a fitting tribute to a true American Hero who spent his life fighting to end slavery and advance equal equality for all regardless of race, gender, or religion.
