John Hancock was an influential American merchant, statesman, and patriot during the American Revolution. Born on January 23, 1737, in Braintree, Massachusetts, Hancock inherited a prosperous mercantile business from his uncle, which made him one of the wealthiest men in the colonies.
Hancock became deeply involved in colonial politics, emerging as a leading figure in the resistance against British rule. He served as president of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress and was a prominent member of the Sons of Liberty, a group dedicated to opposing British taxation and policies.
John Hancock became one of the most influential and respected leaders of the American Revolution. Hancock risked not only his business and wealth but also his life to follow his strong beliefs and rally for colonial independence, despite the constant alarming threat of the British authorities. He set an example of extreme bravery and unwavering faith by his unwavering support for American Independence. Each John Hancock Limited Edition features an exclusive Patriot Blue Swirl acrylic barrel, which represents the uniform color of the Continental Army that bravely fought for America’s Independence. Each barrel has been carefully turned and polished and features John Hancock’s historic signature engraved in Gold. Every pen cap contains artwork of John Hancock’s famous Quill elegantly engraved in Gold. A commemorative gold coin featuring a portrait of John Hancock has been fitted onto the top of each cap. The John Hancock Fountain Pen features a German gold-plated nib featuring the LeBoeuf logo in both Fine and Medium Points and utilizes a cartridge/converter filling system. A Roller Ball version is also available, which uses a Standard International Roller Ball refill. Each pen model is limited to 176 pens Worldwide.
